Our Stories
Alice Fletcher – Principal Scientist
My role at Amphista is…
…as a biology lead on one of our pipeline projects. I focus on maintaining our screening cascade to profile degraders and liase with the chemistry team to identify those with optimal properties. I then work with the project team to communicate and discuss our findings with the leadership team. In addition to project work, I’m passionate about sustainability and have established a team who are working to improve Amphista’s green credentials.
I was drawn to join Amphista because…
…of the novel and exciting approach taken to developing innovative therapies that utilise targeted protein degradation. Moreover, I was really impressed with the brilliant team who have a breadth of skills and knowledge. Since joining Amphista almost two years ago, I continue to thrive on the science that we do and have been able to learn and develop through lots of new experiences and opportunities.
The work we do at Amphista matters because…
…we have the potential to have a positive impact on the lives of patients. Targeted protein degradation is at the forefront of revolutionising therapeutics and with Amphista’s unique technology we have the possibility to advance research and expand therapeutic options for severe diseases including those that are currently ‘undruggable’.
If I were to describe Targeted Protein Degradation/what TPD means to me in three words, they would be…
…“exciting therapeutic potential”.
The best piece of advice I have ever received is…
…“Celebrate your successes”.
When not at work, you are most likely to find me…
… visiting family and friends, spending weekends away at the beach or having a quiet weekend at home in the garden looking after the vegetable patch.
