James Lynch – Director of Oncology

James Lynch

My role at Amphista is…

As the Director of Oncology, I lead a talented group of biologists that support all bioscience activities, from compound screening to understanding how our degraders work. My team supports all of our internal projects and our collaboration projects.

I was drawn to join Amphista because…

I’m excited by the potential that TPD can have in diseases such as cancer. The ability to degrade proteins through a novel, non-CRBN/VHL mechanism is super exciting too.

The work we do at Amphista matters because…

I’ve always been passionate about being able to translate my research into medicines that can make a difference for the treatment of cancer. I believe we can achieve this with our Amphista degraders.

If I were to describe Targeted Protein Degradation/what TPD means to me in three words, they would be…

Next generation medicines.

The best piece of advice I have ever received is..

It is OK to fail, having the resilience to keep trying is key.

When not at work, you are most likely to find me..

with my family, making pizza in the garden!
